Sun Bleached Flies

The luminous elegy near the end, where faith and forgiveness get turned over one last time. From somewhere past the story’s end the narrator looks back with startling tenderness, she still misses the God who failed her, still misses the home she can never return to.

It is the album’s reckoning made gentle: no anger left, only longing, and the quiet insistence on loving what wounded her. The most beautiful thing on the record, and the closest it comes to peace.
